1st Fridays on the Lawn

Celebrating Diversity Through Music - The first Friday of each month join us on the Wilson County Library Lawn in Downtown Wilson for a free community concert, family entertainment and educational opportunities. The Wilson community comes together to relax, enjoy and get to know each other a little better. Using music and festivities to bring diverse community together. Live bands, food vendors and community entertainment and you just might learn something too!

Darrell Harwood Band

Following the footsteps of his father, Darrell has music in his blood. He formed his first band in 2009 and it has been a steady ride leading to his first album very quickly. Mixing great country hits from today, orginial songs and the classics too - grab your boots & cowboy hat and be ready to dance.

Coming from Charlotte, PUSHH brings excitment in every note they play. When a band's goal is to make sure each person in the audience is having a great time - you get a rockin' show. This 5 pc rock band plays a variety of music including Bon Jovi, Rolling Stones, Neon Trees, Def Leppard and Maroon 5.

Carolina Soul Band

Bringing the smooth sounds of R&B to Wilson, the Carolina Soul Band has performed in festivals in Texas, Florida, South Carolina and all over North Carolina. Playing sweet soul sounds that take the audience on a exciting journey through musical history of today's favorites back to the hits of the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's.

Each month the audience will see an amazing international performer from 7-7:30 pm, brought to us by Mesmerizing Arts - Raleigh, NC.

Entertaiment & Activities -  Bands, Food Vendors,Community Information Booths and Intermission Acts seeking to be included should click & download the applications displayed in the upper left corner, then submit it to the Human Relations Office.

Intermission Acts -  Each month different groups provide intermission entertainment while the band takes a break. The groups vary from local dance studios, children's performance groups to traveling artist. Make sure to arrive on the lawn by 7 pm so you don't miss it!

Rain or Shine - In case of rain, all performances will be held at the same scheduled time in the Boykin Center, downtown Wilson. Vendors and information booths will be available as space allows. Doors open at 5 pm.   Located: 108 Nash Street

Keep in Mind - All concerts are a family friendly atmosphere. No alcohol is permitted. Pets are preferred to be left at home. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
