1st Fridays on the Lawn – Community Groups
Wilson Community groups are invited to participate at the concert date that best matches their services. Civic clubs, non-profits and faith-based organizations are encouraged to join the lawn celebration each month. Groups may use this opportunity to inform the community of their goals, services, community action, events and membership opportunities.
The Human Relations Office is now accepting applications for the 2013 concert dates:
- July 5
- August 2
- September 6
- October 4
The booths are free of charge, but limited to only 5-7 groups per concert date.
Each Community group must donate a doorprize for the audience drawings. The prize can be for children or adults. The Human Relations Commission runs the drawing from the Welcome Tent throughout the concert.
Many Community groups use this opportunity as a fundraiser asking for donations or by holding a raffle. Groups may not sell merchandise as that type of activity is reserved for the annual street festival in November.
Community groups interested in being food vendors must apply separately as a food vendor. This could include a bake sale, popcorn, lemonade, fish fry, etc... The planners carefully review food vending applications and assign one booth per food type per concert date.
