JOB TITLE:  REVENUE ANALYST

JOB SUMMARY:  This position performs complex professional work in support of the city’s financial functions.

MAJOR DUTIES:

Works under the direction of the Director of Finance

Responsible for Revenue review and reporting (monthly, quarterly and annually)

Charts and trends various revenue streams including property taxes and assists with projections

Reviews Journal Entries and works with staff on quality improvements, when necessary

Creates and maintains a monthly accounts receivable status report

Assists with month and year end close, account analysis and budget processes

Understands and Applies Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and State and Local Accounting Policies

Responds to various ad-hoc reporting requirements as well as being a resource for the Accounting unit on various accounting and reporting issues

Provides timely output for all requests

 KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION:

Ability to review processes and determine ways to add value through enhanced efficiencies and quality improvement

Must be proficient in Excel, and Accounting Software

 Must have excellent oral and written communication skills

Requires good interpersonal skills, including ability to work independently to resolve conflicts and handle complaints

Requires ability to work effortlessly in team environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  The work is typically performed while sitting at a desk or table or while intermittently sitting, standing or stooping.  The employee occasionally lifts light or heavy objects.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  The work is typically performed in an office.

 SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY:  None.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Accounting required

Three to five years relevant Accounting experience, preferably in governmental setting

Three to five years relevant Revenue or Tax Projecting and Trending experience
