The office of Business Development, a division of the City of Wilson Planning & Community Revitalization Department, works towards growing the local economy and enhancing the prosperity and quality of life for all residents in the community. By leveraging resources and working with the community, the Business Development team serves to improve social conditions and economic sustainability through business recruitment, retention, and property redevelopment.

Presently, the Business Development team is working within 3 focus areas: the Highway 301 Corridor, the Five Points neighborhood, and the former Parkwood Mall, including commercial centers along Ward Boulevard.

Mature and new businesses in the above focus areas may be eligible for several grants, incentives, and business assistance by working with the Business Development office. Funds from grants and other incentive offerings can come from a wide variety of sources and are based on availability and eligibility.

Contact the office of Business Development if you have any questions about your business or how to invest in the 301, Five Points, or former Mall areas.
