Neighborhood Associations and Community Groups play a vital link in our community. They open lines of communication between neighbors, communities, and city government. They also provide key information that is more local than virtually any other source.

Neighborhood Associations and Community Groups build a sense of belonging, address particular needs and concerns, provide effective communication tools and empower citizens to work together to improve their own community. While Associations tend to form around neighborhood street boundaries, Community Groups come together around a commonality that identifies the group.

Citizens interested in starting a new association or group, should contact the Human Relations office for a "How to Kit". Most groups meet on a monthly basis and plan a variety of social events, beautification projects and civic engagement programs throughout the year.
