Our downtown development team, a division of the City of Wilson Planning & Community Revitalization Department, is responsible for the areas of design, promotion and economic development within the Municipal Service District in Historic Downtown Wilson. In addition, staff manages two non-profits including Wilson Downtown Development Corporation and Wilson Downtown Properties, Inc. which work together to comprehensively revitalize and promote Historic Downtown Wilson.

WILSON DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (WDDC)

This non-profit organization provides important leadership to promote a vibrant, innovative and sustainable downtown. It supports downtown development, encourages historic preservation and combats community deterioration. Learn more about WDDC

 

WILSON DOWNTOWN PROPERTIES, INC. (WDP)

This non-profit organization facilitates the adaptive reuse of obsolete downtown properties through a variety of means. Learn more about WDP

 

WILSON FARMERS & ARTISAN MARKET (WF&AM)

Whether you’re searching for fresh fruits and vegetables, or handmade jewelry and paintings, you will find all of that — and much more — at the Wilson Farmers & Artisan Market. The Planning & Community Revitalization Department provides management for the Wilson Farmers & Artisan Market which runs from spring to fall on Wednesdays and Saturdays under the Pavilion at the Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park located at 301 Goldsboro Street South.
