RAIN BARREL INFORMATION |
In 2019, the City of Wilson Stormwater Division launched its rain barrel program, offering residents the opportunity to purchase 55-gallon plastic rain barrels for $75. The use of rain barrels is beneficial to both homeowners and the city's infrastructure by capturing rain water and alleviating the amount of water running through stormwater pipes and across contaminates such as animal feces, oil/grease, and pesticides/herbicides. By connecting a water hose to the rain barrel's spigot homeowners can use the captured rainwater to irrigate lawns and gardens, reducing the use of treated water and cost of utility bill.
Rain Barrel Features:
- 55-Gallon
- Upgraded with brass fittings, spigot, overflow port for removing excess water or transferring to a second barrel
- Removable mesh lid helps prevent mosquito breeding

- Built in Greenville, NC
